There are units of National cadet crops- one for the boys and the other for the girls, in this collage.
Captain Prof. Mrinal Kanti Ghosh is in this charge of the boys' battalion. This unit is running since 1965. The cadets generally undergo normal NCC training and attend different state level and all India camps time to time like CAT, Tre-RDC,NC-Day Camp, Army Attachment, NIC, Adv, Leadership Camp, Trekking etc. and have to sit for Certificate-‘B', ‘C' examinations. The Cadets also participate in various social activities and awareness programmes. The Cadet WBSD/2000/100291 rank JUO Sk. Tobarak attended Republic Day Camp at New Delhi on January 2003. Students are now getting more and more interested in having NCC training. Indeed it is a means for mental and physical development for the youth in a disciplined manner.

It is one of the best units of its kind among the other sister units of other colleges under the University of Burdwan. A selective list in 2004-2005 is given below.
1. in the UTA PHASE II WORKSHOP held in Shillong. Meghalaya (4-6September, 2004)the University of Burdwan was represented by our Programme officer, Sachchidananda Roy.
2. In the pre-Republic Day parade held at Gantok fifteen of our students had participated, a record which has never been surpassed by any other collage under the University in Burdwan.

4. In The National Integration Camp held on 12 December ten students of our collage had participated out of whom Arindam Choudhuri stood FRIST in Reading of self-composed poetry, Saurav Pal stood FIRST in Monoacting and Kanchan Roy stood SEOND in the DEBATE Competition.
5. Only ten collages in West Bengal were selected to send representatives to the ZONAL AIDS WORKSHOP. The participants of our collage made signification contributions to the Workshop.

7. 450 students of our collage formed the largest group in the WORLD AIDS DAY rally on 1 Dec. 2004.
8. Two students of our collage gave excellent performances in the NATIONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL, held in Hyderabad from 21-25 Feb, 2005.
9. The NSS unit number 2 has adopted a model village in Bolpur, Gram Panchayat, Hizolla, eight Kms from the town. In the very onset, two hundred meters of mud road has been constructed in the tribal outskirts of the village as a result of which the marginalized periphery has been directly connected to the central road of the village. The sociological impact of this communication link is too significant to be explained in detail here. Two large ponds in the area have been located and the embankments of those two ponds have been strengthened, preventing soil erosion. Pollution control campaigns and AIDS awareness campaigns have been organized involving a large majority of the villagers who have willfully participated in the campaign. For generating literacy drives and motivating the people of the village towards continuing education, the collage is working hard to open a village library as soon as possible and the most significant development in this regard is that one local resident, Mr. Sadhan Dutta, Has very kindly agreed to donate his ancestral house to the proposed library.
